Join Rebecca and a group of other fiber enthusiasts for a trip of a lifetime. Spend 9 days in beautiful Norway, starting in Oslo, meandering through Telemark, exploring the fjords, and ending in Bergen. Tour highlights include yarn shopping in Oslo and Bergen, Heddal Stave Church, a visit to Telespinn mini mill, a Meet & Greet with Liv Sandvik Jakobsen (co-author of the popular Kofteboken trilogy that has helped bring traditional Norwegian cardigans back into modern fashion), the Hardanger Folk Museum, Hillesvag Ullvarefabrikk (Woolen Goods Factory), Norwegian Knitting Industry Museum, and the Floibanen Funicular cable car in Bergen. Enjoy traveling with ease as our private driver and minibus take care of the transportation, leaving you to knit, crochet, or simply squish your new yarn over the mountains and through the valleys!

Day 1 // June 12:  Arrival in Oslo (D)

Arrival in Oslo and take the airport train downtown Oslo. Day at leisure in Oslo. At this evening's welcome dinner, meet your guide and fellow fiber enthusiasts and make a plan for your yarn store visits tomorrow.

Day 2 // June 13:  Oslo (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day exploring Oslo and visiting the many yarn stores. Your 24-hour bus pass gives you flexibility to travel with the group or independently. It's all up to you!

Day 3 // June 14:  Oslo – Telemark (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Our private driver and minibus will pick us up for today's scenic drive to Telemark. Our first stop is Heddal Stave Church, Norway's largest stave church, built in the 1200's. We then continue to Telespinn, a mountainside goat farm and mini mill. Tour their facility, enjoy lunch, and of course take a look in their shop for any woolly goodies you'd like to take home.

Day 4 // June 15: Telemark (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we have a Meet and Greet with Liv Sandvik Jakobsen, co-author of the popular Kofteboken 1, 2, and 3 knitting books. Her blog (http://ljo-s.blogspot.com/, in Norwegian) and Instagram account (@livslyst) have helped bring traditional Norwegian cardigans (kofter) into modern fashion. We will drive to her home in Telemark, see the kofter from the books in person, enjoy a cup of coffee, and marvel at the amazing mountain view. Spend the afternoon knitting and enjoying the scenery.

Day 5 // June 16: Telemark to Hardanger to Voss (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Ourjounrey continues through the mountains and into spectacular Fjord Norway. Drive along Sor Fjord to the Hardanger Folk Museum, where we will enjoy lunch (cost of meal not included) and a tour. Exhibits feature Hardanger embroidery, traditional constumes (bunader), and Norway's largest collection of Hardanger fiddles. Continue along the fjord and through a mountain valley to Voss.

Day 6 // June 17: Voss (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day in Voss. Our hotel has outdoor seating overlooking Vangsvannet Lake, a perfect spot for knitting. Optional add-ons include taking the Voss Gondola to the top of Mt. Hanguren (knitting with a view!), the Voss Folk Museum, Voss Church (from 1277), hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, or even the famous Norway in a Nutshell day tour with the Flam Railway and a fjord cruise.

Day 7 // June 18: Voss to Bergen (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive from Voss to Bergen, with two significant stops along the way. We will visit the Hillesvag Yarn Mill, Outlet Store and Museum. Hillesvag focuses on using Norwegian wool, ideal for traditional colorwork knitting. Next, we will visit the Norwegian Knitting Industry Museum, sponsor of the annual Bergen Knitting Festival, for a guided tour of the old factory from 1859. We finish our day in Bergen.

Day 8 // June 19: Bergen (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Your day is free for exploring charming and historic Bergen. Take the Floibanen Funicular to the top of Mt. Floien for a panoramic view of the city and sea; walk along the Bryggen wharf, whose colorful wooden buildings date back to the 15th century; sit and knit at a sidewalk cafe by the harbor. This evening we will enjoy our final group dinner together at the historic Bryggen Tracteursted Restaurant.

Day 9 // June 20: Departure (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Take the Bergen Airport Bus to the airport to connect with your departure flight.
